Meet Leo and Rochelle Catt

Rochelle and Leo Catt are long-time square and round dance leaders based in
Centralia, Washington. Married in 2012, they enjoy life with their two dogs, Molly and Blackberry.

Leo’s square dance journey began in 1976 at age seven. After a break to pursue other life paths, he returned to lessons and became hooked. He began calling in 2005 and has since co-founded three dance clubs in Southern California and Washington.

Leo calls through the Plus program and appears regularly at state and regional festivals, clubs across the Northwest, and as featured caller at Round Squares Memorial Weekend and Oakview Summer Round Up. In 2015 he joined the Fine Tune / GoldWing / SharpShooter family and has recorded over 20 singing calls spanning many genres. Fondly nicknamed “The 80’s Guy” by Rick Hampton, Leo particularly loves the classic country music at the heart of square dancing.

Rochelle began cueing in 2012 shortly before relocating to San Diego. Her dedication and the support of the local round dance community led to steady guest appearances, a regular round dance club in Cowtown, and her breakout opportunity at the 2015 California State Square Dance Festival. Since returning to Washington in 2019,
Rochelle has cued across the Northwest and served as cuer coordinator for multiple festivals in Washington, California, and USA West. In 2026 she will be the featured cuer at several festivals in Oregon and Washington, including Central Oregon Round Up, PS Promenade, Round Squares Memorial Weekend, and Oakview Summer Round Up.

Rochelle teaches Phase II and III dances and cues Phase II–IV with some Phase V–VI. She recognizes that round dance songs and choreography vary by region; if you have around you’d like to hear on the cruise, email Rochelle.
